As the summer heat settles in, restaurants are employing innovative strategies to attract dinners despite the challenging weather conditions.

In July, several hotpot restaurants in Taiwan launched unique summer cooling activities, inviting people to dine in beachwear and enjoy discounts.
The promotion runs until August 31, during which time customers dressed in bikinis, beach shorts, or swimming trunks can enjoy a 90-per-cent discount on selected set meals.
“Hotpot can be too hot, so the less clothing we wear, the better we can enjoy our meal,” said one customer.
Some restaurants have even introduced a high-temperature promotion in which the discount rises in line with the temperature outside.
