China’s first corgi police dog has been docked its year-end bonus for sleeping on the job and urinating in its own food bowl, causing much amusement on mainland social media. Canine cop Fuzai was born on August 28, 2023 and joined the police dog training base in Weifang, Shandong province, in northern China.
2. Malaysian man finds love with Chinese woman who gave him launderette directions

A Malaysian man has tied the knot with a Muslim Chinese woman after they met on a street in China when he asked her for directions to a launderette. Ethnic Malay Zairy Amir, 38, comes from the state of Selangor in Malaysia. He runs a delivery store in Guangzhou, in southern China’s Guangdong province.
3. TikTok ‘refugees’ impress by cooking ‘new world-famous ’ Chinese steamed eggs

Ask a user of the social media app RedNote what the new “world-famous” Chinese dish is, they will almost without exception say Chinese steamed eggs. This is thanks to a trend of cooking steamed eggs, which some people mistakenly call “egg custard”, among domestic and international users on the app recently.
4. ‘Super fierce bridesmaids’ join muscle-bound China bride, excitement ensues

A wedding with a so-called super-fierce group of muscle-bound bridesmaids has trended on social media in China. The nuptials, held in Wuhan, Hubei province, central China on January 9, featured the bride Shi Fan, who won the Overall Fit Model championship at the IFBB World Fit Model Championships in Lithuania last year.
5. Chinese woman pregnant with 9 embryos loses them all due to serious infection

A woman in China who was carrying nine fetuses and underwent surgery to remove seven of them in November has lost the remaining two babies after suffering a serious infection. The 25-year-old from Nanchang of Jiangxi province, eastern China, trended in the country last year, Jiupai News reported.
