A 44-year-old woman in China miraculously survived a 12-storey plunge and was even able to call out to her husband for help after she hit the ground.

Netizens nationwide have expressed disbelief and amazement over the survival of factory cleaner Peng Huifang from Leping in Jiangxi province, southeastern China.

On May 13, Peng received a call from her husband, who runs a window business, to help seal a balcony for a client.

Believing she was safe inside the room and far from the balcony, she did not wear a safety rope, a decision that could have cost her life.

The couple were using a crane to lift a heavy window, estimated to weigh several hundred kilograms, from the ground to the 12th floor.
