Dad says son has ‘comedic gene’ and food he rushed back to grab during tremor was not even his favourite, adding, ‘he just loves to eat’

A hungry Chinese boy has become a humorous internet hit after he ran back to grab food from a table during a 4.3-magnitude earthquake as the rest of his family fled in fear.
The unidentified boy went viral after video footage showed him returning to scoff some food before hurrying out at the behest of his father, carrying a dish of stir-fried onions, snow peas and pork and a bowl of rice.
On June 23, an earthquake shook Qingyuan in Guangdong province, southern China, after which a viral video amused millions of people on social media.

In the video, when the earthquake hit, a family, including a father and his two sons, was at home having dinner. The mother was away on a business trip.
While the father, surnamed Li, immediately grabbed his younger son and rushed towards the door in a panic, his older son initially followed, even calling out to his nanny in the kitchen to run.
However, just a moment later, to his father’s astonishment, the boy ran back to the dining table.
Despite his father’s frantic shouts to run, the boy was determined to take some more mouthfuls of food and grab some dishes.
