China teenager grows 1.4cm from body lengthening therapy, shrinks back to 165cm after 2 weeks
Medical expert says ‘humans are not noodles’ and cannot gain height from ‘stretching’; advises exercise and quality sleep
A 16-year-old Chinese boy who spent 16,700 yuan (US$2,350) on a body lengthening treatment grew 1.4cm in six months, then shrank back to his original height within two weeks.
The boy, surnamed Huang, received six months of treatment from February to August in Xiamen, southeastern China’s Fujian province.
His father recently revealed that while his height increased from 165cm to 166.4cm in August, the boy shrank back to 165cm just two weeks after the treatment ended.
Huang senior complained to the institution that provided the treatment.
A member of staff told him that his son was “too old to be corrected” and gave him a full refund.
