A Chinese “lovesick patriotic” investor has posted a marriage advertisement online saying he is looking for a life partner who shares his passion.
The 30-something man placed the advert on his social media account “yiwanxin”, which means “hundreds of million xin”, on November 27, in a bid to find a wife.
He said he was born in the 1990s, is a professional investor and one of the 10 biggest individual shareholders in more than 10 listed companies, including Dajin Heavy Industry Co, Ltd and Grand Sunergy Tech Co, Ltd.
The man then confessed to the media that he is Liu Xin, an investor famous in the industry with a net worth of more than 10 billion yuan (US$1.4 billion).

Liu said he has an ambition to surpass his idol, the US investor Warren Buffett.
In his marriage ad, he also quotes Buffett as saying the most important and life-changing choice a person makes is their spouse.
He says he was obsessed with work and had “minimal romantic experience” after a family trouble in 2018.
Liu says he is a “love brain”, a trendy Chinese expression describing people who are irrationally lovesick.
He said this is a quality developed from his investment experience because he often prioritises the interests of his clients.

He also says that he is “extremely patriotic and nationalistic”.
He hopes his future partner will also be a “love brain” who is able to look after other people and wants to have children.
Liu added that it would be “unrealistic” to search for a partner who is financially matched with him.
He said he has a bachelor’s degree from a top German university, owns property in his hometown Yantai in eastern China’s Shandong province and Hangzhou in eastern Zhejiang province.
He says he also owns more than one Rolls-Royce car.

He says he is “definitely not ugly despite being rather fat”.
Liu left his personal chat app account and his public social media account details in the advertisement. He said he received hundreds of friend requests daily.
The advertisement and a follow-up post each have attracted about 1,000 comments, with some women posting their information and photographs.
However, some online observers have warned of potential fraud.

One person said Liu was infamous in investment circles for enticing investors to buy into a failing market and speculated that his marriage advertisement is another trick to increase his influence.
Another said Liu could easily find a well-matched woman at a high-end matchmaking event and that he had ulterior motives.
Liu denied such accusations, saying that manipulating the market is illegal.
He added that he was seriously looking for a wife and would announce their relationship to the public.
Another online observer said: “His requirements for his future wife seem to be reasonable but are in fact contradictory.
“He wants a woman who is good-looking, dedicates herself to him while being outstanding in her own career. He wants a perfect woman that does not exist.”
