Chinese man drives 900km for marriage proposal, hangs banner asking fellow drivers to make way
Romantic businessman receives congratulations along the way, thanks fellow road users amid country’s congested New Year traffic

A man’s journey across China’s congested highways to propose marriage has captured the internet’s attention after he posted a simple red banner in the back window of his car urging fellow drivers to give way.
In February, many netizens shared a heartwarming scene they witnessed while driving.
Videos posted online showed the banner which read: “Brothers, let me go first. I am heading to Guizhou to propose to the love of my life.”

The vehicle’s owner, surnamed Tan, 26, from Jiangxi province in central China, runs a business in Fujian province in the southeast of the country.
Tan told Jiangxi TV that his girlfriend had returned to her hometown in Guizhou, southwestern China, for Chinese New Year.
The couple met in college and have been in a relationship for four years.
Tan said that the banner was intended to help him navigate the Spring Festival traffic and share his joy with fellow drivers.
