Bartender charged with threatening murder of US House Speaker John Boehner
Ohio man, who worked at a country club frequented by the House speaker, told police he planned to either shoot or poison the lawmaker

An Ohio bartender who worked at a country club frequented by US House Speaker John Boehner has been accused of threatening to kill the lawmaker with poison or a gun.
Michael Hoyt told police in Deer Park, Ohio, that Boehner was mean to him and was responsible for Ebola, according to federal court filings in Cincinnati. Hoyt was indicted by a grand jury in the city on January 7 on the charge of threatening to murder a public official.
He's accused of telling police that he was fired from his job at the Wetherington Golf & Country Club in West Chester before he had time to "put something in John Boehner's drink", according to a criminal complaint filed in November 6. Boehner is a member of Wetherington Golf & Country Club.
Hoyt, 44, also allegedly told police that he had a loaded .380 Beretta automatic handgun and was "going to shoot Boehner and take off". Then he volunteered to be taken to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, it said.
He was placed on psychiatric hold at the federal medical centre in Devens, Massachusetts, and police recovered the Beretta from his home, the complaint said.
Martin Pinales, Hoyt's lawyer in Cincinnati, didn't respond to a phone call and an email seeking comment on the allegations.
