British police have charged a man after opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn was hit by an egg.

The man, 31-year-old John Murphy, was arrested after allegedly hitting Corbyn with an egg as the Labour Party leader visited a mosque in his constituency of Islington North on Sunday.

Murphy allegedly smacked the egg onto the left-wing politician’s head while shouting: “When you vote you get what you vote for.”
