Keith Flint, the British musician who sang lead vocals for The Prodigy, has died aged 49, his bandmates said on Monday, saying the singer had taken his own life.

Flint was found dead at his home in Essex on Monday.

“We were called to concerns for the welfare of a man at an address in Brook Hill, North End, just after 8.10am on Monday,” said an Essex police spokesman. “We attended and, sadly, a 49-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.”

The Prodigy tweeted that Flint was a “true pioneer, innovator and legend”.
