US diplomats in Germany reportedly hit by ‘Havana syndrome’ symptoms
- Two diplomats reportedly seeking treatment for mysterious health ailment

At least two US diplomats in Germany have complained of symptoms that point to so-called Havana syndrome, German news magazine Der Spiegel and The Wall Street Journal reported.
Citing unnamed US diplomats, the Journal said the diplomats exhibited symptoms including dizziness, severe headaches, earaches, fatigue, insomnia and sluggishness.
The phenomenon refers to a mysterious ailment first reported by American diplomats in the Cuban capital in 2016.
The still unexplained attacks have caused sickness and even brain damage in US diplomats and intelligence officials also in China, Russia and other countries.
There was initially no official confirmation for the latest reported cases in Germany, although the country’s foreign ministry said it was aware of the reports.
The cases would be the first reported in a member state of the Nato alliance.
