Covid-19 cases up 30 per cent in 2 weeks, with Europe at centre of new wave, WHO says

  • The UN health agency says it is also following a new sublineage of subvariant BA.2.75 which has been detected in India
  • The rise in hospitalisations is still far below previous waves, and widespread vaccination has made the pandemic less deadly
