Meghan Markle gives advice to the actor who might play her in the future: ‘She can call me’
- ‘I hope that in preparing for that role, she finds the softness, the playfulness and the laughter’, the Duchess of Sussex said
- Markle had bit parts on TV and in films until landing a role in the USA series Suits before becoming engaged to Prince Harry in 2017

“It’s all weird”, she told trade publication Variety. “You have to compartmentalise. Anyone talking about me or casting an actor to play me, that will be a caricature of me that has been created for a business that makes people a lot of money”.
“Once you can separate that out, it’s much easier to go: ‘OK. That actually has nothing to do with me’, she continued. “It genuinely doesn’t. It’s a hard lesson to come to grips with”.
Markle was landing bit parts on TV and in films in the early 2000s, but she finally landed a role on the USA series Suits beginning in 2011. In late 2017, she was engaged to Prince Harry and walked away from acting.
Her whirlwind experience inside the world of the royals, which resulted in her and Harry becoming independent of the family in early 2020, is ripe for a big-screen adaptation.
