Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected in Poland on Wednesday.
Among other things, he will meet Ukrainians at the Royal Castle in Warsaw who have found refuge in the neighbouring country, a spokesman for Polish President Andrzej Duda announced on Twitter on Monday.
Zelensky has so far only very rarely travelled abroad since the Russian war began last February.
Poland is considered an important ally of Kyiv in the fight against the Russian invasion and offers shelter to many Ukrainians who have fled.

It was also recently announced that Ukraine is ordering 100 new wheeled armoured infantry fighting vehicles from Poland, to be financed with US and European money.
In February, Zelensky travelled abroad for only the second time since the beginning of the war to visit London, Paris and Brussels. The first trip took him to Poland and the United States in December.
The news came after Moscow’s ambassador in Minsk, Boris Gryzlov, said on Sunday that Russian tactical nuclear weapons, previously announced for deployment in Belarus, will be placed on the border with Poland.
By July 1, the bunkers needed to store the weapons should be ready, he said.

“This will be done despite the noise in Europe and the US,” said Gryzlov, a former Russian interior minister and chairman of the Russian lower house of parliament, the Duma, according to the Belta news agency.
“At last people are paying attention to the fact that there should be some parity,” Gryzlov said. “If we talk about the deployment of US nuclear weapons in Europe, then we have to take measures that will increase the security of our union state [Belarus and Russia].”
Russia and Belarus, he said, are the territory of the Union State, a legalised territory, unlike the territories of countries where the United States stations its nuclear weapons.
“For them, these countries are just puppets, but we have a common space,” Gryzlov said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin recently announced the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in the neighbouring former Soviet republic of Belarus against the backdrop of strong tensions with the West as a result of the Ukraine war.

He justified the deployment by saying that the US had been doing something similar in Europe for years.
An analysis by the US Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said a week ago that Putin wanted to stir up fears in the West of a nuclear escalation to break support for Ukraine, for example in the supply of heavy weapons.
According to the ISW, Putin is still “very unlikely to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine or elsewhere”. Putin’s move had already been announced before the war in Ukraine, the ISW said. By stationing nuclear weapons in Belarus, Russia is primarily cementing its influence in the former Soviet republic.
