Strike near Iran’s Bushehr nuclear plant kills 1, says IAEA
It is the fourth such incident in recent weeks involving Bushehr, which is closer to Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar than it is to Iran’s capital

The International Atomic Energy Agency on Saturday said that it has been informed by Iran about a projectile striking close to the premises of the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
The IAEA said in an X post that one of the site’s physical protection staff members was killed by a projectile fragment and that a building on site was affected by shock waves and fragments.
“No increase in radiation levels was reported,” the IAEA said.
Rafael Grossi, head of the agency, voiced “deep concern” at the strike, which he said was the fourth such incident in recent weeks.
Russia, which partly constructed the facility and helps operate it, announced it was evacuating 198 workers.
Iran’s Tasnim news agency said earlier on Saturday the incident did not damage the main parts of the plant and that production was unaffected.
