Ukraine: 5 killed, 18 injured by Russian strikes on railway stations
- Ukrainian Railways says attacks took place over one hour; they came day after top US officials met Zelensky in Kyiv having taken train from Poland
- Meanwhile, to Ukraine’s north, in the Russian region of Bryansk, a blaze has erupted at an oil depot but no immediate cause has been given

At least five people were killed and another 18 injured on Monday in Russian strikes on railway stations in the central Ukraine region of Vinnytsia.
“Preliminary information shows that five people died and 18 were injured. Rescue operations are under way, investigators, prosecutors and other services are working at the scene,” the office of the Ukrainian prosecutor general said in a statement on social media.
Oleksander Kamyshin, boss of the state-run Ukrainian Railways, said the attacks took place in the space of an hour.
He said trains were being forced to alter routes and schedules for security reasons. All of the country was placed under an unusually long air raid warning for two hours on Monday morning.
Dozens of people were killed earlier this month in a Russian attack on a railway station used for evacuations in the eastern city of Kramatorsk.
