China’s Xi Jinping a little sobered by Ukraine war, CIA chief William Burns says
- He said the Chinese leader was probably surprised by Russia’s poor showing, but warned not to underestimate Beijing and Moscow’s commitment to their partnership
- Burns added that the Xi maintains serious ambitions over Taiwan, and that conflict over the island would be ‘deeply unfortunate’ for all involved
