Trump campaign hints at biggest flip-flop of his campaign: a rethink of hardline immigration stance

It’s beginning to sound a lot like Donald Trump is considering the biggest flip-flop of his already chaotic presidential campaign
A senior aide to the US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump signaled a possible shift in his trademark hardline immigration policies on Sunday, saying his plans to deport 11 million people who are in the country illegally were under review.
That came one day after Trump met with members of a newly convened Hispanic advisory board as he tries to work out how to broaden his appeal beyond the white, working-class voters who form his core support.
But Trump has put his vow to toughen the country’s immigration policies at the centre of his campaign. He has promised to carry out mass deportations and build a wall on the US-Mexico border, proposals that critics have assailed as inhumane and too costly and unrealistic to achieve.
On the very day that he launched his campaign, Trump warned of Mexican “rapists” and “criminals”.
