A shocking new video shows a bloodied United Airlines passenger begging “just kill me, just kill me” after a violent encounter on Sunday with airport police left him dishevelled, disoriented and gasping for breath.

The video was posted by Twitter user Kaylyn Davis, who says her husband was on the same United Flight 3411 before it departed from Chicago O’Hare International Airport to Louisville, Kentucky.

It shows the elderly man, bleeding heavily from the mouth, as he clings to a curtain pillar on the flight. The treatment of the man, who was chosen at random to leave the flight to make room for airline staff after it was overbooked by United, has sparked outrage.

He was violently dragged off the flight, before dashing back on board. He was then apparently removed again. Reports said he was a Chinese American doctor in his 60s, who was due in Louisville to see patients.

Davis’ video shows the distressed man, his face bruised and his words slurred, after he returned to the cabin. “Just kill me. Kill me,” he says and “I have to go home,” as blood streams down his mouth.

Much of the online uproar surrounded the appropriateness of removing a paying customer in order to accommodate airline staff.
