US star pupil Alwin Chen says he took handgun to class to ward off school shooters
Chen, 18, wrote in a journal that he wanted to use ‘vigilante justice’ and ‘kill all evil forces’, prosecutors claim

Maryland high school honour student says that he regularly took a loaded handgun to classes to protect himself and his classmates from a possible school shooter, according to new court documents filed in his case.
Alwin Chen, 18, of Clarksburg High School, was arrested on arrested February 15 for possession of a Glock semi-automatic handgun he had built from parts ordered online and tools bought at Home Depot, the documents state.
Chen also had access to weapons owned by his father and kept in the family’s town house, the filings state, including an AR-15 assault-style rifle, a shotgun and two revolvers.
Chen’s familiarity with guns, his willingness to bring a loaded weapon to school and his journal writings show he remains a public risk and should not be released from jail pending his trial, prosecutors said in court documents.
