Alex Jones, the host of the InfoWars website, is facing another defamation suit related to his comments about the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, which left 26 dead.

Jones, a conspiracy theorist, has wrongly claimed the shooting was staged and didn’t occur.

The suit was filed in Connecticut Superior Court by six families of victims killed in the attack, as well as an FBI agent who responded to the scene. Jones, his companies and a frequent contributor to his show are listed as defendants.

“While the nation recoiled at the terrible reality of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Alex Jones saw an opportunity,” said the families’ lawyer, Josh Koskoff.

Alex Jones and InfoWars sued for US$1m by parents of slain Sandy Hook children

“He went on a sustained attack that has lasted for years, accusing shattered family members of being actors, stating as fact that the shooting itself was a hoax and inciting others to act on these malicious lies. He knew his claims were false but he made them anyway to further a simple but pathetic goal: to make money by tearing away at the families’ pain.”

In April, Jones was sued by two other families of victims killed in the Connecticut mass shooting.

He is also facing a lawsuit by an individual he accused of being the Parkland, Florida, mass shooter, who had no connection to the attack earlier this year.

Jones did not immediately return a request for comment.
