Houston police on Friday night responded to a report of a stabbing at a home.
Authorities said the boy’s father returned from work and found the child’s body wrapped in a plastic bag and inside a rubbish bin in the family’s garage. The boy’s head was in the same bin.
Authorities haven’t released a possible motive in the killing of the boy. His name wasn’t immediately released.
The Houston Chronicle reported that police found a bloodied knife in a bathroom, and the bathtub was spattered in blood.
The newspaper said child protective services had interacted with the family in 2015, but the reasons were unknown.
