Watch: Trump’s first congressional address of his second presidency
US president takes credit for ‘swift and unrelenting action’ following his return to power six weeks ago

US President Donald Trump delivered the first joint congressional address of his second presidency on Tuesday.
It was not officially called the State of the Union, a title reserved for a US president’s annual address to Congress during other years of an administration. But it was an opportunity for Trump to lay out his priorities for the year.
The primetime speech at US Capitol, his first to Congress since taking office on January 20, capped a second day of market turmoil after he imposed sweeping new tariffs against Mexico, Canada and China.
Trump took credit for “swift and unrelenting action” in reorienting the nation’s economy, immigration and foreign policy.
“The people elected me to do the job, and I am doing it.”
