It might have made a good April Fool’s joke. Unfortunately, it was not.

“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F***in’ Strait, you crazy b*****ds, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

Really, who writes like that? Even a tinpot dictator from some godforsaken hellhole would have written a less expletive-laden post to retain some personal dignity as a leader of sorts. We are, unfortunately, quoting the president of a country long identified as the leader of the “Free World”.

The war in Iran alone has cost Trump much credibility with US allies and citizens alike. Many people are hoping Trump will go full Taco (Trump always chickens out) now that he has failed to secure a quick win over Iran but instead dragged all his rich Persian Gulf backers into a regional war, and the world into an energy crisis.
He could declare victory and walk away. The bull market would continue. The Republicans would lose one or both houses of the US Congress in the midterm elections. The Trump regime would become a proverbial lame duck, and the Democrats could start reversing the damage Trump has caused at home and abroad.

If all that were to happen, Trump and his cronies would finally face the music, with endless lawsuits, investigations and possibly even prison once he leaves office.
