The Bookaholic

Words,
The theoretical basis of literature;
Words,
The association of two unfamiliar souls.

Two unknown mundanes,
Hanging with dull appearances,
On the icy, unyielding balcony.
Boredom sewed their mouths with thread,
Until words snapped them open with a pair of scissors.
Opening up the sacred doorway of friendship.
With the ultimate accomplice,
The literary reserve, the library.

Vocabulary,
Contains the permanent power,
To stick people together like glue.
Vocabulary,
Swallowed us into the deepest pit of a blackhole
Into a world of fictional fantasy.
The library transformed into a “Central Perk”,
A paradise which provides a partition,
To seal ourselves from reality.
Quietude as they flipped open the wonders of books,
A silence that provides the required comfort,
As two minds cascaded into one.

Whenever one’s heart is shattered into pieces,
We always end up discovering comfort in words.
Believing sincerely that wounds can be healed by love,
As the song accompanied affectionately in a soothing melody,
“Loving can heal, loving can mend your soul”.

Whenever we find ourselves astray in the shadows,
We can always find our way back to the light,
Through each other’s navigating words.
As they replayed the tune,
Accompanied with books and friendship.
“We keep this love in a photograph”,
May our friendship be bounded eternally.'
