I would like to recommend the book I Survived #18: I Survived the Battle of D-Day, 1944, by Lauren Tarshis. It is about D-Day during World War II, one of the bloodiest days of the war.

More than 150,000 soldiers from America, England, and Canada invaded France to free it from German control.

My favourite character is Paul Colbert. He is only 11 years old, but he is so brave. He helps an American soldier in his battle.

This book taught me to be brave and not to be afraid.
