Gaddi’s, the Michelin-starred French fine-dining restaurant at The Peninsula hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, will host a local take on Georges Bizet’s iconic opera Carmen. Titled Les Amours de Carmen Wong, the performance and dinner experience transports the classic opera to the streets of Hong Kong’s bar district in the 1960s and 70s. Taking place on July 21, the evening’s four-course menu features traditional beef tartare with baerri caviar, gherkins, capers and quail eggs, and a choice of mains including wild sea bass with beluga caviar.

Famous for his scathing brand of humour, Spanish cartoonist and illustrator Joan Cornellà has returned to Hong Kong with a solo exhibition at the Fringe Club that runs until July 27. Cornellà presents more than 100 original artworks, with his signature blend of candy colours and black humour, alongside new merchandise that reflect the world we live in today.

Titled Louisiana Gold, the collection pays tribute to the bold flavours of the American South with drinks such as the Classic Creole, a twist on the margarita featuring charred corn, and the Wet Crescent Martini, which perfectly balances lemon zest and olive brine.
