Energy resources continue to dwindle as demand from industrial societies rises. The ever-growing need for power puts an enormous strain on an already finite store. Drawing from decades of experience powering commercial and telecommunications devices, Asian Power Devices (APD) considers it important to focus on renewable energy solutions in mitigating an even bigger energy crisis.

Paving the way for more industries to implement renewable energy systems, APD broadens its scope to include photovoltaic (PV) inverters in its offerings. As the world’s manufacturing hub, China has staggering energy demand – making it one crucial market for APD.

“We want to reach China’s top three solar inverter suppliers and collaborate with them to further harness solar energy. Given the energy climate in China, we are confident that the market can help us reach our target of being among the top three solar inverter suppliers in five years,” says president Sara Tsai.

Initially targeting Shanghai and Beijing, APD will build on the network established by its previous business in distributing uninterrupted power supply (UPS) in China. APD opened its Shanghai office in April to jumpstart its initiatives in mainland China.

Complementing its portfolio of AC-DC power supply, industrial grade UPS and PV inverters, APD also plans on making inroads into the medical devices field. APD works closely with clients and customises power solutions for various medical apparatuses. To stoke its innovative spirit, APD welcomes partnerships with companies from medically advanced states such as Singapore.

APD guarantees a steadfast commitment to quality service. To address the varying needs of its clients, APD offers greater flexibility with its high-mix and mid-volume manufacturing capabilities.

“Customers can expect the best from APD,” Tsai says. “We differentiate ourselves in the market by being more selective with customers. Building relationships with the best companies in their fields helps us achieve our goal of becoming a technical leader.”
