Bulla courts increasingly sophisticated Asian palate

For more than a century, Bulla Dairy Foods has been a trusted partner of Australian families in bringing healthy and nutritious dairy products to the dining table. Using the freshest milk and cream, Bulla delivers real dairy goodness in every dollop of its award-winning creams, spoonful of flavourful yoghurt and mouthful of its famous ice cream.

A tradition of excellence and a set of family-centric core values have propelled the growth of the family-owned firm in Australia. Adding innovation to the mix, Bulla is ready to bring its heritage of quality to many more markets in the Asia-Pacific.

"We see huge opportunities in China and Southeast Asia, particularly for our yoghurt and other fresh dairy products," says CEO Allan Hood. "In markets where freshness and quality are important, Bulla's brand credentials are strong."

Throughout its history, Bulla has formed a strong bond with farmers from southwestern Victoria, Australia's major milk-producing region. These long-standing relationships ensure Bulla's access to a steady milk supply to meet current and future demand. Bulla's recent investment in milk separation capability to secure a direct supply of cream also opens doors for the company to venture into products based on milk protein as they leverage the skim milk by-product.

To establish greater brand awareness outside Australia, Bulla is looking for partners that can help the company adapt its products to suit local consumer tastes and needs. Similarly, Bulla is keen on building relationships with companies looking to enter the Australian dairy market.

"We're very proud of our history and heritage, and we look forward to sharing it. We will continue to foster our strong partnerships across Asia, but we are also very much open to new business," Hood says.
