AXA Group has rolled out AXA Global Private as a unified platform to better serve high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals together with globally mobile families across Asia.

The announcement was made on 8 June during a press conference in Hong Kong. On the same day, a private gala launch was held, where senior executives from the French insurance group joined VIP guests for a programme exploring the themes of heritage, crafted wealth, protected future and enduring legacy.

Clients gain access to multi-jurisdictional arrangements that support their wealth planning needs across markets and generations.

“The HNW segment is seeing rapid growth in Asia. This momentum is expected to continue with strong growth projections,” said Thomas Buberl, Chief Executive Officer of AXA Group, at the event.

Buberl drew attention to Hong Kong’s position as the world’s largest offshore wealth hub, with the city managing around US$2.9 trillion in international assets at present and forecasts indicating nearly US$4.6 trillion in inflows by 2030, based on the Boston Consulting Group’s 2026 Global Wealth Report.

“As Hong Kong has recently claimed the top spot as the world’s largest offshore wealth hub, we look forward to leveraging our presence in the city to provide our regional clients with comprehensive solutions for long-term success,” he added.

A holistic approach to wealth protection

While the affluent market continues to draw strong interest from major carriers, AXA Global Private offers a distinctive approach to serving HNW clients in an increasingly complex and connected world.

AXA Global Private benefits from the strength of its parent company, AXA Group – a Fortune 500 leader and Europe’s second-largest insurer – which serves more than 92 million clients across 52 markets.

“As wealth transitions to a new, globally connected generation in Asia, HNW families require holistic solutions focused on long-term legacy preservation and continuity,” said Sally Wan, Chief Executive Officer of AXA Greater China and AXA Global Private, during the evening.

“Backed by AXA Group’s robust financial strength and global network, we deliver a true ‘One AXA’ solution to our clients,” she added.

Where traditional peers offer fragmented services, AXA Global Private provides a centralised gateway through a single, full-spectrum platform.

It bundles core wealth management and estate planning with specialty insurance – including coverage for luxury homes, art collections, kidnap and ransom, and other high-value assets – that are typically managed separately. This integrated approach gives clients comprehensive protection across both wealth and lifestyle needs.

The platform relies on operations in two financial centres – Hong Kong as the main base for the region and Bermuda through AXA Life Bermuda Limited. This structure allows for seamless asset portability and international flexibility to meet the needs of modern HNW clients.

The platform is backed by AXA’s robust financial stability. The wider AXA Group, the Hong Kong entity and the Bermuda entity all hold a Standard & Poor’s “AA” long-term rating with a stable outlook.

Wan also referred to the group’s earlier experience in serving sophisticated clients across Europe, particularly through centres such as Luxembourg, and indicated that this knowledge now supports clients in Asia who expect high standards of service and careful risk oversight.

The platform is well positioned to benefit from wealth growth in Asia, where clients increasingly seek stable and diversified solutions.

Conversation with Professor Jimmy Choo, OBE

The evening programme opened with a performance that introduced the four themes of foundations of heritage, crafted wealth, protected future and enduring legacy.

A pleasant surprise came when Professor Jimmy Choo, OBE, the world-renowned fashion designer, shared his philosophy on building an enduring legacy. He noted that true success rests on a relentless commitment to excellence and building relationships that outlast passing trends.

“True success isn’t measured by recognition, but by the mastery of your craft and the long-term trust you earn from your clients,” noted Professor Choo, explaining that legacy is built detail by detail, through perseverance, discipline and an absolute dedication to the people who place trust in your work.
