Companies continuously develop online expansion strategies to keep pace with global e-commerce.
As one of Germany's pioneers in e-business and online software distribution, asknet leverages two decades of experience in helping businesses accelerate sales in the digital marketplace.
"The 'k' in 'asknet' stands for 'kooperation'. Our company sells through B2C [business to consumer marketing] and maintains a symbiotic relationship with clients. It's two companies working as one to benefit the consumers," says CEO Tobias Kaulfuss.
Karlsruhe-based asknet also has headquarters in San Francisco and Tokyo. The company provides localised e-shops, enabling clients to sell to more than 190 countries globally. Its global e-commerce portfolio features over 30 billing currencies, more than 30 payment options, and supports over 30 shop languages with at least 10 customer service languages.
Extroverted, entrepreneurial and customer-centric - these core values define asknet's three business segments. For its academics market, asknet supplies software solutions to 80 per cent of Germany's universities and research institutions. For digital products, asknet is a preferred partner of leading software vendors and cloud service providers. It offers a mobile shopping cart for purchases and downloads. Through its latest segment, asknet brings integrated international solutions for online sale of physical goods and positions itself as a marketing platform for toys and merchandising providers and manufacturers of physical goods. The company serves key players in speciality software and licensing products including ABBYY, CyberLink and HBO Europe.
Recognising China as the second-largest e-market worldwide, asknet seeks partners and clients on the mainland to expand its e-commerce operations. The company has integrated payment service option Alipay to enhance its e-commerce offering to the Chinese market and to ease market entry for its customers.
