Saving lives is a serious business. Knowing that robust, easy-to-use and heavy-duty equipment are critical in emergency medical services (EMS), Weinmann Emergency Medical Technology develops products that speak of top quality and long-term reliability.

"Weinmann Emergency devices can stand the toughest conditions and mechanical hazards," says Andre Schulte, CEO.

An authority in patient EMS, transport and disaster medical systems, Weinmann Emergency takes pride in its highly educated staff and keen understanding of the market. Its 230-strong team, consisting mostly of surgeons, paramedics, physicians and medical technology engineers, conducts practical training and presentations in 100 countries worldwide.

The family-owned company's success story began with its first automatic ventilator. Since then, Weinmann Emergency has supplied ventilation and defibrillation devices to Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen ambulances that are exported to the Middle East and all over Asia.

Apart from offering professional products such as transport packs and LIFE-BASE portable systems, the company invests heavily in skilled personnel and EMS training for its distribution partners and staff. As one of the preferred consultants of EMS ambulance and helicopter builders in China, Weinmann Emergency hires more employees in Asia every year to provide education on the importance of EMS.

"Creating awareness for emergency scenarios is crucial in saving lives," Schulte says. "A high-end medical device is useless if nobody has the technical knowledge to operate it or the proper infrastructure is not in place."

German EMS is one of the world's most advanced and well-organised emergency systems. In his state visit to Germany in October last year, Premier Li Keqiang listed emergency medical systems as a key cooperation project between Germany and China.

As a long-term strategic partner bringing in specialised know-how and customised solutions, Weinmann Emergency is confident and prepared to expand its distribution partner network on the mainland for the national emergency set-up.

"We plan to stay in Asia and grow the markets together with our partners," Schulte says.
