This year’s Hong Kong Autumn Lighting Fair and Outdoor Tech Light Expo, themed ‘Light & Life’, promises a shining convergence of innovation, sustainability and smart solutions in the global lighting industry.
With some 3,000 exhibitors representing 22 countries, the events showcase a wide range of lighting products and systems designed to enhance living spaces, improve energy efficiency and reflect the growing integration of smart technologies in lighting.
The events, which are hosted across two major venues, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) and AsiaWorld-Expo, are expected to draw tens of thousands of visitors, including industry experts, buyers and stakeholders.
Central to this year’s showcase is the Hall of Connected Lighting, an upgrade from last year’s Connected Lighting Zone, which reflects the market's increasing demand for high-quality, interconnected smart lighting solutions.
Hall of Connected Lighting: the future of smart solutions
The Hall of Connected Lighting will feature leading international brands, including JDI from Japan and Signify from the Netherlands.
Returning exhibitors such as LEDiL from Finland, Tridonic from Austria, and Tuya Smart from Mainland China are joined by new entrants like TOPMET from Poland and Zencontrol from Australia.
Together, these over 50 industry leaders present innovative designs, smart technologies and cutting-edge solutions that are poised to redefine the lighting industry.
For example, JDI showcases its LumiFree device. This advanced liquid crystal technology can control light dispersion and create dynamic light patterns suited for environments such as museums, high-end hotels, and conference centres.
The device’s technical prowess recently earned it the Japan Lighting Technology Development Award and the Innovative Product Award at the Asia Lighting Conference.
Tridonic, meanwhile, will debut its lichtMONITOR lighting control software, which provides users with the tools to efficiently monitor lighting systems and conditions in buildings.
To enhance the visual experience of the Hall of Connected Lighting, renowned lighting designer Tino Kwan and his team, in collaboration with CM Jao from OFT Interiors, present GLOW & GROW-How Lighting Enriches a Space.
Their installation showcases the interplay between light, shadow and geometric structures, offering a visual feast that highlights how smart lighting systems can merge technology with aesthetics. Their work is supported by the lighting fixtures of ERCO and TRAXON | e:cue, two brands renowned for their expertise in lighting effects.
Bast Lighting’s vision for smart, sustainable lighting
Another exhibitor, Bast Lighting Co., Ltd., promotes its Recyclable Zigbee Lighting System at booth GH-C14in the Autumn Lighting Fair.
Bast Lighting is known for its high-quality control gears and energy-saving LED lighting products. This year the company is focusing on expanding its footprint in the European and American markets, according to Alan Au of Bast Lighting.
“We’ll be launching our smart eco-friendly light tube, which has been simplified in terms of modular components. This makes transportation and replacement much easier, and we hope to secure concrete orders from the fair, particularly from European and American buyers,” he said.
He added that, with the market improving post-pandemic, the company is optimistic about growing demand from international buyers.

The Outdoor and Tech Lighting Expo features five group pavilions, including the Guangdong Lighting Association, Jiangsu Province’s Gaoyou City Lighting Association as well as the pavilions from Foshan, Zhenjiang and the new pavilion from Shenzhen

Other zones include Horticultural Lighting, Outdoor & Public Lighting and Technical & Professional Lighting, showcasing solutions for commercial and industrial use.
At this Expo, innovation continues to be the focal point, with an array of new lighting solutions set to dazzle visitors.
One of the highlights is the introduction of the Smart Pole & Solution Zone, which features products designed to optimise energy efficiency and enhance urban living.
The use of smart poles equipped with sensors and adjustable lighting levels, traffic detection systems and solar-powered lights is a clear indication of the industry’s focus on sustainability and efficiency.
Another exhibitor, Amo Technology Co., Ltd, showcases its Solar and Electricity Hybrid Street Light at booth 8-A05.
The system primarily runs on solar power but switches to electricity when the battery is low, with an option to charge the battery using electricity. It can also be remotely controlled to charge, operate on electricity, or turn on and off, regardless of the time of day.
“Our key markets are Southeast Asia, Africa and South America, where unstable electricity makes our resilient solar solutions highly appealing,” said Aimee Chen of Amo Technology, adding that the decision to exhibit in Hong Kong is due to the city’s strong appeal to international buyers, as well as the HKTDC shows’ ability to attract reputable exhibitors.

Also exhibiting at the Outdoor and Tech Light Expo is Simalex & Pos (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd, which showcases its LED Streetlight and LED Park Light at booth 8-D08.
Simon Hong, representing the company, said: “We participate in the Hong Kong Autumn Lighting Fair every year, as it helps us connect with new clients from around the world.”

In addition to the exhibitor showcases, both events feature a series of seminars, product launches and networking events.
The Innovative Lighting Design Forum takes place on 27 October, with leading architects and designers sharing insights into lighting designs that reflect both aesthetics and sustainability.
The Connected Lighting Forum on October 28 explores interconnected and intelligent lighting applications, highlighting the ways in which smart technologies are transforming the industry.
The Outdoor Tech Light Expo also hosts seminars, including Spotlighting on Architainment Lighting on October 29, where professionals share case studies on architectural lighting, drone light shows and festive lighting designs.
Under the EXHIBITION+ hybrid model, exhibitors and buyers can also conduct online meetings with the Click2Match smart business matching platform. The online exhibitions for the Autumn Lighting Fair and the Outdoor and Tech Light Expo takes place from October 20 to November 8.
With the lighting industry rapidly advancing towards smarter, more energy-efficient solutions, the Hong Kong Autumn Lighting Fair and Outdoor Tech Light Expo provide a prime platform for industry buyers to source for new innovations, exchange insights and seize fresh business opportunities.
