Late November sees the return of the Hong Kong Open golf championship, one of Hong Kong’s most prestigious and iconic sporting events, with Link Asset Management Limited (Link) as the new title sponsor for the next three years.
The Link Hong Kong Open will be staged at the Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling from November 21-24 and this year also marks the 135th anniversary of the Hong Kong Golf Club, and will see some of the world’s leading professional golfers compete for a prize purse of US$2million.
To mark this special occasion, the 18 holes of the Hong Kong Open’s renowned composite course will be named after the 18 districts of Hong Kong for the first time to capture the imagination of the wider public and reflects the aim of making the sport of golf more accessible to local communities in the city.
Partnering with such a historic golf event like the Link Hong Kong Open makes for a perfect match and is a great opportunity to showcase Link’s brand as a Hong Kong headquartered real estate investment manager that has both deep ties to the local community as well as a regional platform that can embrace international opportunities.
By taking a look at the standard set of golf clubs in any professional player’s bag, we can draw on the various similarities and deeper meaning behind the choices and fine margins that lead to success and becoming a champion, both on the course and in your investment portfolio.

2. The Fairway Wood: by far the most difficult golf club to control, it helps you out of tricky situations on the fairway or short rough on a course and requires expertise and skill to master. As your trusted APAC partner, Link has acquired two decades of successful experience navigating the real estate markets through both good times and bad.
3. The Iron: a diverse selection of different irons equips golfers with the necessary versatility and agility to adapt to the wide range of obstacles and terrain presented by different courses in any situation. In the same way, any professional investor and investment manager must be adaptable, agile and nimble to be able to pivot in any given situation to identify the right tools to stay on course and make gains regardless of the market environment which can shift rapidly without warning.
4. The Wedge: a unique club that is only used when required, usually in “emergency” situations to rescue balls from bunkers or roughs, representing the resilience needed to face times of challenges and trials. As a leading real estate investment manager, Link also prides itself in being able to deliver sustainable returns in any environment though growing and maintaining a resilient portfolio that can weather any storms and periods of volatility.
5. The Putter: used at the very end as the closing instrument to finish the game by skilfully and accurately rolling the ball into the intended hole on the green with patience and precision. Link also takes the same approach to unlock limitless possibilities and potential within the APAC real estate markets and help you successfully achieve your desired investment aims.
