Memtech International has a track record of identifying the next technological wave, staying ahead of it and growing alongside its clients. The leading components solutions provider for the mobile, information technology and automotive industries has been at the forefront of innovation for 15 years. Growing its revenue from US$800,000 to US$40 million in the first four years, Memtech continues to innovate, serving a burgeoning group of technologically savvy customers and earning US$150 million to date.

Memtech started as a mobile phone keypad manufacturer amid the text-messaging boom in the early 2000s. Supplying parts to Chinese phone companies such as Huawei and Lenovo, Memtech grew alongside these Chinese technology giants and evolved into a one-stop components provider. It now offers model tooling solutions for a range of sectors including manufacturers of automotive components, consumer electronics and medical devices.

"As a start-up, we decided to initially work with smaller Chinese companies that had big potential," says Memtech chairman W. F. Chuang. "As our clients expanded, so did we."

Clear market positioning coupled with highly experienced personnel makes Memtech an attractive global company with a distinctively local service approach. Leveraging its wide network of offices in China and in-house tooling facilities, it effectively supports the movement of clients from the United States and Europe into Asia while serving markets in the region and worldwide.

Memtech is an ideal partner for dynamic companies with constantly shifting customer needs. Backed by more than 20 years of resource experience, Memtech can quickly calibrate its core speciality to develop better, cost-competitive and more advanced components for clients in key industries.

"Our reaction time is fast, and our cycle time is short," Chuang says. "We can use our expertise to build very high-precision parts for the medical and industrial sectors, and everything we learn from these pursuits, we can easily transfer to other industries we serve."

Global companies seek Memtech's material and manufacturing know-how to launch groundbreaking technologies that translate into a product's enhanced performance and increased efficiency. It recently collaborated with Sony Mobile Communications to develop a waterproofing technology for the smartphone and tablet manufacturer's Xperia line. It also had a hand in developing the light guide features of Amazon's Kindle e-book reader. Leading car brands from Germany and the US, including Tesla Motors, also use Memtech's plastic components.

Committed to development, Memtech plans to invest in other high-potential companies to diversify its business and to grow into a firm worth US$200 million in the midterm.
