From the UK to HK- Bubbledogs

A HK debut, Taste of Hong Kong presented by Standard Chartered will welcome its first hot dog based concept with London’s popular Bubbledogs - the brainchild of Sandia Chang and husband James Knappett who both formerly worked at Noma in Copenhagen and Per Se in New York. The Bubbledogs concept is simple – champagne and hot dogs. Luckily for us, Hong Kong foodies will have the honour of sampling these gourmet creations at this year’s festival.

Black Star Pastry-Sydney’s favourite Patisserie’s Hong Kong Debut

This year Taste will also welcome the one-of-a-kind attraction, Black Star Pastry, a Sydney-based boutique patisserie opened and led by the talented Christopher Thé. Indulge in this deliciousness for the FIRST TIME EVER IN HONG KONG with the rare chance to sample the overseas patisserie’s signature and most-requested order globally - the Strawberry Watermelon Cake. Fresh, light, fragrant and full of flavour, the Strawberry Watermelon Cake consists of two irresistible layers of almond dacquoise, rose-scented cream, watermelon, strawberries, garnished with pistachios, and dried rose petals.

Poem Patisserie

In addition to this year’s unbeatable Hong Kong and newly announced international line up, Taste will welcome its first ever dessert-only restaurant Poem Patisserie, led by Chef Vicky Lau, also known as the Head Chef of one Michelin-starred restaurant Tate Dining Room.

Guests at the festival will be able to experience Poem’s one-of-a-kind sensory concept where visitors enter an intimate booth to see, smell, feel and taste its famous sweet confectionaries. Visitors can expect signature and iconic desserts such as the Black Sesame - a popular Chinese soup inspired theme merged into pastry form, the Hong Kong Style waffle - a Peanut praline traditional Hong Kong waffle with a pastry twist, amongst many others. Poem will also introduce an exquisite collection of never-before-seen desserts, playing on the theme of Taste of Hong Kong – only to be revealed at the festival itself.

As an addition to their popular Hong Kong signature dishes, each Taste restaurant will offer up a dish that has never been seen in Hong Kong before. Here’s just a few of the Exclusives on offer:

The Singleton of Glen Ord Single Malt Scotch Whisky Sensorium

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE WORLD, The Singleton of Glen Ord Single Malt Scotch Whisky will unveil its one-of-a-kind ‘Sensorium’, and chooses Hong Kong as its debut to whisky enthusiasts. Docking at Central Harbourfront, ‘The Singleton of Glen Ord Sensorium’ will open its doors, tantalising the full complement of senses, at Taste of Hong Kong presented by Standard Chartered.

Step inside a giant purpose-built cask, to be surrounded by a 360° video projection. Take a seat at the tasting bar and enjoy a series of props that help tell The Singleton story. The fifteen-minute tasting experience begins by virtually transporting guests to the Scottish Highlands to explore The Singleton of Glen Ord’s rich history, unique production process and flavour profile. Led by a brand’s ambassador, guests are consumed by the sights, sounds, smells and, of course, taste of The Singleton of Glen Ord’s 12, 15 and 18-year-old expressions.

Entry to The Singleton of Glen Ord Sensorium, inclusive of a 12, 15 and 18 year old flight tasting costs HK$188 in advance (plus HK$10 Ticketflap fee and includes General Entry to Taste: or HK$100 on a first come, first served basis at the festival (in addition to a Taste festival entry ticket), and is fully redeemable against an on-site purchase of your favourite sensorium expression. Furthermore, The Singleton of Glen Ord bar, adjacent to the Sensorium, will also be serving by the glass throughout.
