Hong Kong’s textile and garment industry is entering a new chapter—one defined not by mass production, but by innovation, sustainability, and global connectivity. Once the backbone of the city’s post-war economy, employing over 30 per cent of the workforce in the 1950s, the industry laid the foundation for Hong Kong’s industrial rise. Today, it’s threading a new needle—one that weaves together design, technology, and transformation to move the industry forward in a fast-changing global landscape.

Funded by the Trade and Industrial Organisation Support Fund of the Trade and Industry Department, HKSAR Government, the conference will unveil the findings of Hong Kong Textile and Garment Industry Report, based on six months of interviews in 2025 with 10 leading enterprises from Hong Kong and neighbouring regions. These companies are at the forefront of five key transformational directions: cross-sector collaboration, product diversification, material innovation, technological advancement, and digitalisation. The report offers a timely perspective on how these forces are reshaping the textile and garment landscape, and how Hong Kong is positioned to lead this transformation.

The programme is designed to inform, inspire, and connect. Attendees will gain first-hand insights from industry leaders as they share practical strategies and experiences. The day features presentations of the report’s key findings, case studies from pioneering enterprises, and interactive discussion panels that invite participants to engage directly with speakers and peers. It’s a valuable opportunity to explore emerging trends, reimagine Hong Kong’s role as a global fashion and innovation hub, and build meaningful connections across the industry.
