Travel in style this holiday season with the unmistakable RIMOWA Trunk Collection.

A journey of evolution

The RIMOWA Trunk rules airport luggage carousels around the world. A travel icon, the RIMOWA Trunk has been the hallmark of seasoned travellers for as long as any of us can remember. Founded in 1898, luggage manufacturer Paul Morszeck started his business of designing and selling luggage in Cologne, Germany with trunks handcrafted in traditional hard-wearing wood. With its lightweight construction and superior stability, the premium cases quickly became fashionable with discerning voyagers and well-to-do globetrotters.

In 1937, his son Richard Morszeck pioneered the very first aluminium trunk and revolutionised the luggage industry, taking craftsmanship and innovation a step further. The company was consequently named RIMOWA, an abbreviation of his name. The brand got its trademark grooves in 1950 when it took the distinctive design of the world's first all-metal, German-made aircraft with a corrugated duralumin skin as inspiration. These iconic parallel grooves proved to be a long-lasting signature design of all RIMOWA products, and the suitcases’ surface design evolved into a cult favourite among the international jet set.

A constant innovator, RIMOWA made the first ever-first polycarbonate case in 2000 proving that a “handmade meets high-tech” philosophy would continue to drive travel technology along. Almost weightless and extremely durable, RIMOWA polycarbonate luggage is able to withstand weather extremes, making it de rigueur for the discerning traveller.

A trunk to meet every travellers’ needs

Whether you are a frequent flyer taking short business trips or need to pack the whole family for your annual vacation, the RIMOWA Trunk is the ideal multi-functional luggage.

Based on the unique shape of the original trunk design, the RIMOWA Trunk Collection offers more packing flexibility and optimum capacity. One side is deeper than the other and can be opened like an old-fashioned suitcase making it easy to organise the interior and stack multiple for easy travel. Longer, bulkier items and mementoes are able to be packed without fear they become squashed by the time you unpack them at home.

Regardless of how you travel, there’s a trunk size for you.  The largest piece in the collection – the Trunk Plus – measures 80cm x 44cm x 36.5cm and easily accommodates for a family holiday. The Trunk, with a dimension of 73cm x 44cm x 36.5cm, is the ideal business trip companion, while the new Trunk S, the smallest in the collection, still packs a punch at 65cm x 39cm x 34cm. All three check-in sizes are designed to meet the requirements of international airlines.

The three trunk sizes in the RIMOWA Original Collection are manufactured in lightweight anodised aluminium casing and feature a secure latch closure system. The colours come in a choice of classic silver, black and titanium.
