Yew Chung International School serves community with early childhood education expertise
Since the 1930s, Yew Chung International School (YCIS) has been known for playing a pioneering role in the development of early childhood education in Hong Kong.
This has been built on a dedicated approach to nurturing confident, caring and curious young learners and fostering a culture which exemplifies the concept of servant leadership among students and teachers.
Those principles remain firmly in place today. And they are exemplified in many different initiatives and activities, the guiding aim of which is to empower the next generation by showing them what is needed to become proactive and compassionate individuals who can create a better world for all.
The first is an Empowering Parent Series of workshops, which sees YCIS organising tailor-made events featuring experts on early childhood education.
The sessions began in April for parents, and provide valuable insights on how best to support children in achieving key learning milestones.
Professional advice is given to equip parents with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the incredible journey of raising a child -and the challenges that always entails.
The topics covered in such workshops range from sensory play and introducing phonics to the essentials of positive parenting and guiding young children with confidence. Each session is informative and enlightening.
