Wycombe Abbey School Hong Kong opened its doors in September 2019. This exciting co-educational school offers an outstanding British independent education for primary aged children, which is complemented by an exceptional Chinese language syllabus. This dynamic combination prepares our pupils to excel as they enter the finest secondary schools around the world.

The challenging, holistic curriculum at Wycombe Abbey School Hong Kong focuses on preparing our pupils to be confident, out-going, responsible, and globally mobile. Today’s children are required to become expert, lifelong learners. They will need to be creative, collaborative problem solvers in order to flourish in their future lives and careers.

Time spent on extra-curricular activities (ECAs) complements the time allocated to focused academic study. ECAs also help individual pupils to build their life skills outside of the classroom and develop a broader perspective of the World and their place in it.

ECAs at Wycombe Abbey School Hong Kong run daily from 3pm-5pm during school term. A wide array of choices is made available to our pupils to explore and experience. These activities range from Taekwondo and Wall Climbing to Ball Hockey, Basketball and Tennis, from Choir and Musical Theatre to Science Clubs, iSteam and NASA Education etc.

One of the most loved activities is wall-climbing. Our climbing wall is 14.4m high and one of the tallest indoor climbing walls in any Hong Kong school. It would certainly prove to be a significant challenge for many adults too. However, pupils at Wycombe Abbey School Hong Kong, irrespective of their age or grade level, are all able to try their skills and strength on the climbing wall.

“This is not only about being able to climb up the wall. Our curriculum is structured in a way that helps our pupils gradually build up their confidence in doing different things.  These could be things they have never tried before or have not succeeded in doing in the past. Our pupils are learning to become resilient and positive individuals! This is what makes Wycombe Abbey School Hong Kong unique”, says Howard Tuckett, Headmaster of the School.

These ECAs were re-launched as the school once again commenced its full day of teaching after the last round of school closures in Hong Kong. Our pupils are clearly benefitting from acquiring new knowledge and overcoming challenging targets whilst having a lot of fun taking part in these activities!
