[First published on Dec 22, 1991] The host teams from the Hong Kong International School will face strong competition from around Asia in the 22nd holiday basketball tournament, which starts on Friday and runs until Monday, December 30.

The boys’ team, runners-up last season, will be up against the defending champions from the Singapore American School, as well as the American School in Japan, the International School Bangkok, the Morrison Christian Academt, St Mary’s International School and the Taipei American School.

The girls, co-champions back in 196 but without success since then, will face the International School Bangkok, Morrison Christian Academy, last season’s runners-up from the Singapore American School, defending champions Taipei American School and Ying Wa Girls’ School from Mid-Levels.

Most of the matches will be played at the Tai Tam Campus but some will be staged at the Repulse Bay site on Friday, Saturday and Monday. Teams of cheerleaders will add to the excitement.
