[First published on May 12, 1991] Hong Kong International School took on a carnival atmosphere last week when it held a fund-raising World’s Fair at its Tai Tam school ground. Colourful banners were put up, pop music blared and shouts of joy and laughter helped create an air of festivity.
The spacious tennis courts were turned into a games arena where about 30 stalls designed by students were featured, such as face-painting, fortune-telling and maze. An interesting item was the live radio broadcast, where visitors got the chance to meet their favourite DJs from Commercial Radio.
Last Saturday’s one-day carnival! was not just all play, for those who like reading there was used book counter where bargains could be picked up. Proceeds from the fair will help pay for additional educational items that could not be met under the school’s budget.
