For three consecutive weekends starting from March 24, the spirit of rugby sevens will fill the streets of Causeway Bay, transforming it into a themed carnival celebrating the much-loved sport. Last year, the outside-stadium festivities celebrating the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens attracted attendance exceeding the 120,000 cumulative spectators inside the stadium over the event weekend, so this year the HKRU have decided to bring it back, but bigger and better than ever before.

The fun and excitement of the tournament will be made available for all as the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens Festival is open to the public at Lee Gardens, just a ‘drop kick’ from the Hong Kong Stadium. The events are organised by the Hong Kong Rugby Union, with the support of Hysan Development and co-title sponsors Cathay Pacific and HSBC. These fan-friendly (and free!) activities aim to build excitement to a boiling point for the 43rd staging of the Sevens from April 6 to 8.
