The global manufacturing landscape is undergoing a seismic shift. Artificial intelligence-driven production has moved beyond the experimental phase into full-scale, production-grade deployment across consumer electronics, automotive, and energy sectors. This transformation is propelled by the need for hyper personalisation and sustainability. With global investment in AI hardware projected to exceed US$200 billion in 2026, the urgency to adopt is a competitive necessity.
To lead this evolution, Laservall has made significant investments in embedding proprietary AI algorithms into its fully integrated, automated, and customised solution platforms. A globally recognised powerhouse in the production of smartphones and consumer electronics, it is aggressively expanding its footprint. Underpinning this expansion is a new global R&D hub in Hong Kong, which coordinates machine learning initiatives across Mainland China, South Korea, Singapore, India and Vietnam.

Laservall’s reputation for excellence was cemented in 2021 with the world’s first multi-channel, active-aligned, fully automated micro-laser jet soldering platform. By integrating automatic optical inspection (AOI), the platform redefined industry benchmarks. “With rapid UPH (units per hour) and moving the precision from 97.5 percent to 99.9 percent yield isn’t just a technical achievement; it represents millions of dollars in reclaimed value for the global smartphone supply chain by virtually eliminating wastage and downtime”, Chan notes.
Today, Laservall is the world’s largest provider of micro-jet laser solutions for smartphone camera modules, serving as a Tier-1 partner to global giants such as Samsung. The company currently holds the highest global market share in micro-laser jet solutions for flagship smartphone applications. This leadership is now being extended to the semiconductor industry, where manufacturers in South Korea and China are adopting Laservall’s cutting-edge laser recycle technology to ensure atomic-level precision in their production lines.
Hong Kong – The Strategic Anchor for AI Innovation
Hong Kong serves as the anchor for Laservall’s R&D strategy. Following a landmark HKD$300 million investment plan announced in 2025, the company is leveraging the city’s unique position to bridge East Asia hardware expertise with global AI talent. Laservall is also actively considering the establishment of an advanced manufacturing base in the city to further localise its high-end production.

Laservall’s “Keep Up” mindset drives its constant search for new innovation frontiers. “For instance, we receive support from several governments and participate in government level R&D partnerships, including a major collaboration on laser applications with the Government of South Korea,” Chan says.
As Hong Kong’s largest I&T ecosystem, HKSTP is home to more than 2,600 tech companies and nearly 25,000 dedicated innovators.
