Gaming equipment maker Razer launched what it claims is the world’s smallest gaming laptop in its class -- the Razer Blade with a 15.6-inch display.

While the new laptop features a bigger screen than the company’s previous 14-inch model, it has thinner bezels flanking the display. The device weighs about 4.5 pounds, slightly heavier than the previous model.

Despite its thin profile, the new Blade features an improved cooling system that helps dissipate the heat generated from its microprocessor, graphics processor and other components, according to Razer. It said the new device also has high-performance, low-noise fans that help quickly move heat out of the chassis and away from the user.

The laptop’s high-definition display provides up to a quick and smooth 144Hz refresh rate. It also offers the option of a 4K touchscreen with 60Hz refresh rate. These models are powered by Intel’s 8th-generation Core i7 processors.

At the launch event in Beijing, Razer also announced a partnership with JD.com, the second-biggest e-commerce services provider in China. Razer said all its future products will first be made available in China on the shopping site. In addition, the two companies said they will collaborate on esports.

China is a significant market for Razer, but right now only 11% of its revenue comes from the country. It faces competition from major domestic brands, such as Xiaomi, which debuted its first gaming laptop in March, and startups like Black Shark.
