FOLLOWING the success of the first part of the 'Century of Cinema' celebrations in February, the second part of the programme kicks off this week with a whole host of great movie treats in store. The reels start rolling on Wednesday - don't miss out on the action! Part of the 'Century of Cinema' programme is dedicated to looking at 100 years of Chinese cinema.

Hong Kong film maker Stanley Kwan provides audiences with his views on local movies by scrutinising old and new Chinese films from the mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Find out what Kwan has to say on Saturday at 5.45 pm in the Arts Centre's Lim Por Yen Film Theatre.

I am sure you are all very keen to pass your Chinese and English examinations in the HKCEE and are looking for tips on how you can achieve your best.

An informative lecture on tackling the HKCEE will be held at the Sha Tin Town Hall Cultural Activities Hall from tomorrow to Thursday at 9.30 am. You'll also be given tips on how to improve your writing skills.

The classical ballet Cinderella, which tells the story of a poor girl who is rescued by a dashing prince, is being performed by the Hong Kong Ballet.

The full-length ballet will be held on Friday and Saturday at 7.30 pm and at 3 pm on Sunday at the Sha Tin Town Hall Auditorium and the Hong Kong Sinfonietta will provide live orchestral accompaniment.

This is an enchanting tale, and shouldn't be missed.

Tickets for the performances - with prices ranging from $60 to $200 - are now on sale at all Urbtix outlets. Limited half-price tickets will be offered to full-time students on a first come, first served basis. Telephone reservation can be made on 2734 9009.

Hurry along, the pumpkin coach is waiting to drive you to Cinderella's wonderland! The 10th Annual Hong Kong Flower Show is in full bloom once again. This event - aimed at promoting public appreciation of exotic plants and floral arts and enabling horticulturists and flower lovers to share their experience in plant-growing - is one the whole family can enjoy! Various flowers, from all over the world, are currently on display in Victoria Park.

The show is open today and tomorrow from 9 am to 9 pm; on Tuesday from 9 am to 2 pm; on Wednesday from 2 pm to 9 pm; and on Thursday through to next Sunday from 9 am to 9 pm.
