Life savers

Law Kam-ching (in foreground) and nine colleagues from the Cheung Sha Wan ambulance depot display their commendations. Three months ago, Mr Law saved the life of Kowloon taxi driver Lau Wai-yin, 32, who was biologically dead after he collapsed in the street. It took Mr Law and fellow officers Wan Chau-hung, Ngan Sum and Li Chung-fu two minutes to resuscitate him. Yesterday, Mr Lau watched emotionally as his guardian angel was recognised. 'I am very grateful to Mr Law,' he said. 'Without him I would be dead. I have now learned my lesson that I must stay healthy and have rejudged the routine of my life.'
