Charged Yip too ill to appear in court

Yip Kai-foon, 35, was charged in his absence in Western Court in relation to a shootout with police in Kennedy Town on Monday. Yip was under medical care in Stanley Prison, magistrate Ian Candy was told.

Yip faces one count each of possessing a semi-automatic pistol and ammunition, and shooting constable Chow Hau-leung with intent. The case was adjourned until June 21.
