Shanghai Haixing Shipping starts express coastal service

Shanghai Haixing Shipping Co is to start a domestic express container coastal shipping service from Saturday, a company spokesman says. The service will first link Shanghai with Guangzhou and Xiamen, and later to cities in north China.

High-speed container ships, each with a capacity of 600 containers, would be used on the route, the spokesman said. The company, a subsidiary of Shanghai Ocean Shipping (Group) Co, operates 170 ships.
