Silkair plans to buy 12 aircraft

Silkair, Singapore Airlines' regional carrier, plans to buy 12 planes worth US$400 million from either Boeing or Airbus Industrie, Silkair general manager Michael Chan says.

The Business Times quoted Mr Chan as saying Silkair would decide on the supplier by the end of this month, with the first aircraft to be delivered by the second half of next year.
